Latest work in progress...

I found this beauty at an antique store in LaCrosse on my crafting weekend with Melissa (one third of the Knitting Sandwich).

Ruby

The cords need some attention....

Her name is Ruby, and I adore her.
She doesn't have a foot pedal. She has a knee lever instead, but I don't know how to use it.
I love the big handwheel.

This work in progress is a beauty, don't you think?

She IS a beauty. And sewing is a dangerous sport. They didn't disguise it back then...

She is absolutely gorgeous! Her paintwork and gilt are in beautiful condition - and that wheel is amazing. Lucky you having a deadly bobbin case - definitely adds to the allure. Bet you can't wait to get the cord fixed :-)

I love her! I just bought a featherweight on ebay ... it hadn't even arrived yet. Is this an electric?

I'm not even crazy for sewing machines and I think she's gorgeous too. And so shiny!

oh, she's such a beauty. I know you shouldn't ask such a question about a lady, but do you know how old she is?
The bobbin case is amazing, too. And I'm curious about the knee lever. I can't imagine how it might work, I definitely need to check it up.

Knee levers work similarly to foot pedals. My mom's cabinet machine has one and that's what I learned on. As you sit at the desk or cabinet you use your knee to press the lever, which is mounted on the side, just like you would press the foot pedal. At least that's how hers worked. I'm hoping yours works the same way. Let me know if this helped out at all :D

By the way, she's in amazing condition!!
