Six more Farmer's Wife Sampler blocks that is.

farmer's wife sampler, block 17

farmer's wife sampler, block 29

farmer's wife sampler, block 49

farmer's wife sampler, block 1

This project is anything but boring. And without duplicating fabrics, I still have no shortage of options for upcoming blocks. Have you ever made a sampler? Or have you ever tried to mix all of your favorite fabrics in one quilt? I'd love to hear about it :)

Where do you get all these wonderful fabrics?
So, so cool!

This will be a gorgeous quilt when finished. I already love it so much and the blocks are still not sewn together! I had to buy the book after seeing your blocks. I will make a quilt like this one day.. :)

Beautiful! I especially love cats and mice...I keep scrolling back to look at it.

I think my resistance to this project is wearing thin. I don't have the modern fabric stash to make each block from different fabrics so I'll probably use a fabric line and then add to it.

I would really love to do a Farmer's Wife Quilt, but I need more fabric variety before I do. In time I'm sure! Meanwhile I am trying to combine all my favorite fabrics in a Swoon Quilt. Still not sure whether they go together as I love them all so much I am biased. Trying to set it aside and come back for a visit later before cutting anything. Your blocks are gorgeous!

First of all, I want ALL of those fabrics! Each block is cuter than the next! Second, I'm doing something similar with my Farmer's Wife quilt - I've definitely been duplicating fabrics, but I'm using the quilt as a way to document my favorite fabrics (and as a way to keep tiny pieces of those beloved prints all to my greedy little self!). I have no idea how mine will come together because I like so many different styles but I'll make it work!

Oh my goodness, this is getting better and better, Melinda! In my FW blocks I have been limiting my palette and fabric choices somewhat, purposefully -- but I love the idea of a project that is a true sampler, not just in terms of block design but also fabric choice. This is looking GREAT!

Beautiful blocks! I love your use of the measuring tape fabric in the first block, and the Dick and Jane fabric looks perfect with the gingham. Planned or not, your gingham lines up perfectly throughout the block. Nice work!

In love with them all.

Love the ruler.

Love the ones with typography on them.

Love the ones with lots of tiny dots.

Love, love, love, love.

oh goodness... you continue to blow my mind with this project!
i was very hard pressed to pick a favorite out of this lineup, but after much internal debate i have decided on "end of day."
unless i go back and look at them again... then i'm probably going to change my mind! (again!)

I love seeing your blocks come together! The friendship one is probably my favorite. I have all the same fabrics (except for the ruler)....and I think it's neat when that happens. :)

I love sampler quilts as it gives me a chance to use lots of fabrics. I made a few now.
The tricky bit I think is finding a fabric for the sashing to blend/ complement with the other fabrics. I look forward to seeing your FW quilt all finished.
