My Pretty

In and amongst the sewing adventures at Melissa's, she and I took a break for photos of my shawl.

love the green

pretty

I may be ruined for all other yarns after using Madelinetosh yarn. I may have turned into a dedicated shawl-wearer, too.

It's beautiful - I love the stripes and colours. I love shawls too :-) - you need a lovely wooden shawl pin so that it won't fall off whilst you're bustling about. As for Madelinetosh - I couldn't say, never knitted with it but I've heard so many lovely things about it, maybe I'll just have to give it a go. p.s. I don't know why shawls aren't way more popular - they are so warm! The coldest I have ever been was at Stonehenge in England in the dead of winter - late afternoon, no sun, fierce wind. I took the shawl that was draped "fashionably" around my shoulders and pulled it around my head - Babushka style - and tied it under my chin - perfect. Covered my head, neck and shoulders - the ultimate cosy :-) I think we should lead a revival!

It's gorgeous! MadTosh is wonderful - I love knitting with it too. I love in Florida and often just keeping my neck warm with a small shawlette along with a light sweater is plenty to keep me warm. It's amazing how much warmer one feels with their neck covered.

Wow, this is beautiful :) I love knitting but it's always too hot in Florida to make anything I'd actually use!

This is really beautiful. The colors are rich (I am especially drawn to that green!) and it looks very smooth and drapey. It's an interesting pattern - I like how it swoops up and around, leaving that punch of green at the top.
