My first DC Modern Quilt Guild Meeting

I went to my first modern quilt guild meeting with the DC quilters over the weekend.  I had a *blast* meeting a bunch of great people and I got really inspired by them.

And, lucky for me, they had a sewalong for a pattern I was dying to make.

The Atkinson Designs Pockets to Go.  I made the long caddy.

The pattern calls for just two fabrics, but I hate to play favorites.  Or maybe I just have too many favorites.

So I used some scraps and some stash...

...and a little bit of new fabric from the Architextures line.  I am aware that five is a ridiculous amount of pictures for one little sewing caddy, but I had good light in the backyard and I just couldn't help myself.

Sweet! I love how it turned out. The fabrics you chose were so great for this. I am digging grey right now. I like how all those fabrics play well with eachother.

I feel your enthusiasm bubbles over in this post about your handsome caddy. One never has too many fabrics for a quilter to find a way to use them in harmony! Any special reason you chose to make your caddy long and narrow?

That's gorgeous! And I don't think there's enough pictures...after all, a box has six sides...:D

I'm so glad you got all the binding sewn down and are using the caddy. LOVE your fabrics. Hope we'll see you at many more DCMQG meetings. Welcome to the capital area!

Oh, no, we def needed at least five photos of that. Looks fantastic! Was it beastly to sew? A friend got the pattern and thought it was too hard. I know you have mad sewing skills, but what about someone who doesn't, like me? Is it doable, ya think?
