Sweet
These will be my last blocks for the do. Good Stitches bee. I like that bee very much, but I need to trim back from commitments where I can. My little guy needs a lot of my energy now, and four bees is just too much.
I finished this block for the Pastiche Bee. I tried a some embroidery in the rose and I couldn't get it to work. If I was using this block in my own quilt, I'd use quilting to define the rose better. But, I did a bit of machine stitching to complete the paintbrush.
And the sweetest thing of all, last night Henry spontaneously said, "I yuv a Bert. I yuv a Ernie." He has been having a hard time expressing himself, especially without prompting. These two sentences made my week.

Love your blocks but I particularly love Henry's comment about Bert and Ernie - bless!
This is just the neatest block!!
I love a day made by a child :)
They are both just gorgeous!!!
Henry's words about Bert and Ernie are wonderful : )
Zeb has PDD, so we thought he'd never speak. Thankfully, there are excellent programs for children to help get them on the right track.
It can be tough, but there is an awesome support system in Wisconsin for children who are having difficulties in development. Zeb had in-home therapy until he was three, for fine and gross motor skills and speech. Now, he's in an Early Childhood class that's helping with socialization and further development of his motor and speech skills.
Zeb's speaking in full sentences now. He still has motor issues, but those may be related to vision problems and scoliosis, which he was recently diagnosed with.
That's huge for Henry! WTG! I know it's a struggle right now, but there *IS* a light at the end of the tunnel! I promise!
I understand why you're pulling back, but I'm going to miss seeing all those awesome bee blocks! You have way too much pent up creativity! Share some with me, maybe? :D
Beautiful work, as always -- and beautiful words from your beautiful boy.
If/when you want to get back into low-pressure swaps or bees, I'd love to do one with you. I was in five VQBs last year, none this year (too much on my own plate) -- but now I miss them!
that rose block is so amazing! love the details you added to the paintbrush.
henry's words about e&b made my day too! yay!
Amazing how a little bit of stitching/embellishing makes such a big difference - your paintbrush looks so realistic.
Gorgeous blocks! And I can only imagine what that simple sentence did for your week. :)
Sweetness all around!
